When Solomon was King, this was the scene in the temple:
“The band and chorus united as one to praise and thank the Lord; their selections were interspersed with trumpet obbligatos, the clashing of cymbals, and the loud playing of other musical instruments – all praising and thanking the Lord. Their theme was ‘He is so good! His loving-kindness lasts forever!’
And at that moment the glory of the Lord, coming as a bright cloud, filled the Temple so that the priests could not continue their work.” (2 Chronicles 5:13, TLB)
Today, at the Fitzgerald Church of God, we believe it is still the worship team’s responsibility to prepare the atmosphere and lead the people in worship, so that the presence of the Lord will fall upon us corporately and make a radical difference in our lives.
If you would like to serve with us in ministry, we have several areas for you to consider:
WORSHIP CHOIR
The Worship Choir is for singers 13 and up. We lead worship during Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services and present seasonal productions periodically throughout the year. Rehearsals are Sundays at 9:30am and occasional Sunday afternoons in the Sanctuary. If you are interested in joining the choir, click here to contact Pastor Lorne.
PRAISE TEAM
The Praise Team is a select group of choir members who serve as our front-line singers and worship leaders. The Praise Team occasionally ministers at other churches and events as well. In order to be a member of the Praise Team, an individual must first be a dedicated member of the Worship Choir.
PRAISE BAND
The Praise Band is a group of instrumentalists dedicated to using our combined gifts and talents to glorify God. The band is open to qualified instrumentalists from 2nd year band in middle school and up. We accompany Sunday worship services and seasonal productions throughout the year. Rhythm Section rehearsals are Sundays at 8:30am. Horns rehearse Sundays at 9:15am and Wednesdays at 4:30pm in the Sanctuary. MEDIA TEAM
Our media team is a vital part of worship ministries, and impact many aspects of our worship services. The team shares the tasks of video production for live-streaming and television broadcast, sound tech, video projection during service, and more. The media team needs volunteers who desire to operate sound equipment, run cameras, and use graphic software and other production equipment. Our media team also provides DVD's of our services.
